The Run Like A Bighorn trail run takes runners up and down the cliffs through the beautiful Sinks Canyon State Park on both developed and primitive trails. Runners will go through sagebrush meadoes, conifer forests, alongside the Popo Agie river, and up to dolomite cliffs known worldwide for climbing.
The race is 5.9 miles with steep elevation gains and descents. The race begins at the mouth of the canyon at the Sawmill group shelter and ends at the Park Visitor Center. The race is also open to walkers and hikers as well as families. All race participants receive an official race tshirt and race water bottle. Fee is $25 for adults/$10 for kids.
Sinks Canyon is 7 miles south of Lander, WY. The race is scheduled two days before the full Solar Eclipse. The town of Lander and the surrounding area is in the line of totality for the eclipse, and historically only has a 9 percent chance of cloud cover. This race is a wonderful way to start out a weekend trip to see some of the most beautiful natural features in Wyoming and experience the eclipse of a lifetime.
