  • Coastal Trail: At 17 miles it is the longest maintained trail in Marin County.
  • Matt Davis Trail: Matt Davis was a paid trail builder, and contracted this one during the 1920s, while living in a small cabin on Mount Tamalpais.

  • Cardiac Hill: The apex of the famous Dipsea Race.
  • Dipsea Trail: Stretches seven miles from Mill Valley to Stinson Beach.
  • Miwok Trail: Coast Miwok people were believed to follow this route from inland areas to the ocean during peak fishing seasons.
  • Tennessee Valley: Named for the SS Tennessee, which ran aground when the captain missed the entrance to the Golden Gate on March 9, 1853.
  • Marincello Trail: Marincello was a failed development project (fortuitous for us trail runners) that would have placed housing atop the Marin Headlands.
  • Student Conservation Association (SCA) Trail: Singletrack gold! Follow it down to the crossing of the Golden Gate Bridge and admire the views.
