Last weekend’s Haulin in the Holler race, in Eleanor, West Virginia—part of the Trail Runner Trophy Series, presented by Altra—hosted a succession of achievements, including a 5K course record set by 19-year-old Luke Miller (22:16.7) and a first-time win for Bob Luther, 40, who, just a day before, returned from overseas deployment to race the 50K (4:39:24.6).

Several racers also flashed through the finish line, despite just recently overcoming major health obstacles.

Davidbugs Stover, 61, having just had a quadruple bypass and open heart surgery in December, and Mike Harris, 37, who just had knee replacement surgery five days before the race, both completed the 25K in 5:43:30 and 4:02:56.

Mary Ann Yarborough, 64, also suffered from vertigo one week before the race, yet completed the 50K in 9:41:11, making it her fifth Haulin in the Holler finish.

The other Trophy Series race last weekend was the Badger Mountain Challenge in Richland, Washington.

The Series continues next week with the Altamont Challenge in Travelers Rest, South Carolina; the Mile Run Trail Challenge Half Marathon in Allenwood, Pennslyvania; the Beginner’s Luck 55K in Boulder City, Nevada; the Dirty Kiln Trail Race in Hollidaysburg, Pennsylvania; and the The North Face Endurance Challenge – Washington DC in Sterling, Virginia.
